Public & Private Sector Approaches for Innovative Partnerships
DNV GL, Urban Sustainability Directors Network (USDN), and Nutter Consulting are hosting breakfast and morning workshop for local government representatives and smart building/energy vendors to explore new innovative partnership models, funding opportunities, and how barriers can be overcome to build meaningful smart city initiatives. Building on DNV GL's “Smart Cities Vendor Engagement Framework” for sustainability and resiliency city projects developed for the Urban Sustainability Directors Network (USDN) with over 150 member cities, this workshop will explore best practices for soliciting, screening and contracting for sustainable smart city technologies and services. Workshop modules will include Smart City Integration between Office of Sustainability, IT and the Utility; technology-specific procurement processes (ie: solar + storage, microgrids, building energy management software, controls, dashboards, smart meters); and improved data management and analytics using open standards and other techniques.
- Nils Moe, Managing Director of URban Sustainability Directors Network
- Sarah Isobel Moe, Senior Consultant, DNV GL
- Melanie Nutter, Principal, Nutter Consulting
The workshop modules are designed for small group discussion, allowing cities and vendors to identify best practices for leveraging private sector and public sector funding, and development of selection criteria.
